Charming BYOB, delicious Italian food, warm service
UPenn Grad
I've been to Roberto's twice over the course of two years living in the Grad Hospital area and both experiences were consistently enjoyable. There's a fair selection of delicious classic seafood and pasta dishes but what we usually went for were some of the daily specials depending on the availability of seasonal ingredients. There are typically 3 or more choices each for the special antipastos, pastas, and entrees. They also offer a prix fixe menu when we were there but it didn't show up on their website as I'm writing this review (ask the friendly server). The service is very friendly, they're not in a hurry to turn tables and will time the courses according to how fast (or in my case, how slow) you get through them. Another big plus is they're BYO and you can bring your best Chianti along and not have to pay a premium to dine and wine. The setting is bistro style, not fancy at all, and there are a few outdoor tables in the tiny backyard for al fresco dining. 5 stars all round!
Great Gnocchi

I was down here for lunch just the other day. They have a lot of great Lunch specials going on. I ordered Gnocchi Amalfi, was pretty satisfied with what I got and the quantity. Generally you land up spending a lot for Italian food and the quantity is not that great, but this place satisfies the palate. The staff is pretty friendly and it has a nice ambience too.
Pretty decent lunch specials
UPenn Grad
We went to Roberto's for lunch the other day and it was pretty decent. I get annoyed when Italian food is overpriced so I enjoyed the lunch specials, which were $9.95 and included a salad, an entre, and a desert. Not a bad deal for a filling meal. I've heard they also have great seating in the back area for dinnertime. It is also BYO which is is always a plus.
