This is a great property if you can get in - you have to find a condo owner who will rent to you. Apartments are newly rennovated - hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, etc. Giant windows, high ceilings, good heating/ac system. Location is ideal - 1 block from 15th street transit with green line and blue line, a couple of blocks from local restuarants and bars, really easy to grab a taxi this far east. I'm payng a great price - $2000/mo for 2BR/2Ba - but price is set by the owner so will vary between properties. My landlord has been great about repairs, but again that all depends on who you rent from. There are only a few students here, which is kind of nice because it doesn't feel like a dorm. Street noise can get a little loud but that hasn't been a problem for me.My apartment will be available end of May 2010 - email me if you're interested and I'll put you in touch with the landlord.
1.5 Bedroom Apartments

Very elegant condos. Hardwood floors, beautiful finishing, excellent appliances, and a gym in the building. 1.5 bedroom floor plan is a great option if you are here with a partner. Get two full bathrooms and lots of space for the price of a one bedroom in other buildings.

I lived here during my two years at Wharton. It's a condo building, very elegant, grown up, and professional. Building is mostly owner-occupied with young professionals, which really keeps up the quality. Perfect for couples or those that don't want to live like a student in housing that turns over annually. Apartments are VERY spacious. Biggest 1 bedroom is 850 square feet and HUGE. Also units have separate walk-in kitchens.

Beautiful hardwood apartments with high ceilings, great building staff, and a perfect location. The views are not ideal--mostly looking into other tall buildings--but a great place to live otherwise. Could not imagine being anywhere else!

The Good• Clean, friendly staff and neighbors, close to trolley and bus, nice amenities• Location, quality, service• Recently renovated units with brand new floors, countertops & appliances. My friends are always impressed by theappearance of my unit, especially when they learn what I'm paying! The Ellington is a fantastic home. It has been recently renovated, the hardwood floors and kitchens are pristine. It is acondo building so most of the residents are owners. The building staff is wonderful. It allows small dogs and other pets. The Not So Good• Busy area, Wendy's across the street• I thought the washer dryer was new but it's 10 years old and has had problems. Since I'm on a low floor, we get lots ofstreet noise even though the windows are double pane. Since it's a condo, I have to go through an off-site landlord forrepairs• Rent• The 1500 block of Chestnut is not the greatest (kind of rundown), but it is getting better (Ritz Carlton just finished theirbuilding across the street).
