I've visited her on three occasions and each time she tries to upsell me on stuff. Because of this, I went and visited my dentist in my hometown which made me realize that Yurovsky might be cutting corners when it comes to the service she provides. Long story short, I have a receding gum line which might result in surgery down the line. My dentist in hometown over the years has measured how much the gum recedes while Yurovsky does not. Instead, she just eye balls it and tells me that it is rather than telling me the change that's taken place which I think would be worthing knowing. Overall if you're looking for a quick cleansing, she's good for that. If you're looking for a long-term dentist, I'd go elsewhere.
I hate going to the dentist... not because I'm scared of the drill or the pointy tools. I hate going because no matter how well I take care of my teeth, dentists have this condescending attitude and recommend lots of unnecessary treatments. And if a dentist's office has all brand new equipment, flat screen tv's for patient amusement, and unnecessary dentist gadgetry... then they're ripping you off. That money has to come from somewhere, doesn't it...? Soooo.... I was pleasantly surprised by Renee's office. I was in an out of there in a jiffy. She told me I grind my teeth but did not pressure me into buying the $1000 mouth guard that other dentists have. The staff is friendly and the office is casual. They take UPenn insurance so I just had a $5 co-pay for x-rays and a cleaning. If you don't have insurance, I think it is $145 for a cleaning.

For me, going to the dentist is about convenience and getting things done quickly and easily. Dr. Yurovsky's practice fits the bil. It's small, personal, clean enough, professional enough and very conveniently located. I also once had an emergency toothache and I got an appoinmnet easily the next day. She also recommended a fabulous oral surgeon, Dr. Laudenbach, who did a couple of implants for me.

The good: Appointments are easy to get.The bad: I have concerns about hygene there. The first time I went there the dental assistent took my bag and placed it on the same table where she prepares instruments and other stuff. Additionally the instruments had water stains on it which raises the question if they were sterilised at all. I personally did not feel comfortable with this dentist and changed my primary dentist.
