With so many beauty brands on the market and so many new ones launching every year, it can be exhausting (and expensive) researching and testing new products that may or may not work for your skin.
A lot of men and women simply rely on word of mouth from friends or reviews from their favorite beauty bloggers to consider what to buy and what to try.
And there’s one item out there that a lot of people are talking about:
The Cryotherapy Ice Roller from StackedSkincare.
Ready to learn what it’s all about? Here’s our Cryotherapy Ice Roller review, plus a rundown of some other top StackedSkincare products that we are loving.
Who is StackedSkincare?
StackedSkincare was launched in 2014 by aesthetician Kerry Benjamin. Her mission was to create an easy skincare system where customers can combine (or stack) the exact products for their skin type into their daily skincare routine, just like aestheticians do when you visit a medical spa.
Every StackedSkincare product is cruelty-free and free of sulfates and parabens. The brand follows a “clean beauty commitment,” a pledge to make products that are good for the skin and good for the environment.
StackedSkincare products don’t contain any formaldehyde, coal tar, talc, toluene, styrene or any other nasty components used by so many other beauty and skincare brands.
With StackedSkincare, you can combine a variety of serums, exfoliators and skincare tools to develop your own system that perfectly addresses (and attacks) your skincare issues.
We’ve tried a variety of their products in recent weeks, and there’s one clear winner: The Cryo Ice Roller.
The Cryo Ice Roller is a treat for the skin. This little device features a comfortable grip handle with a stainless steel rollerball that’s shaped like a miniature egg. Just pop it in the freezer for a few minutes, let it get icy cold, and roll it all over your face. This little wonder feels incredible!
Cryotherapy has long been used as a way to reduce inflammation, swelling and reduce pain associated with those symptoms. But it’s the unique size and shape of this ice roller that makes it so desirable.
You can easily get into small, hard-to-reach areas so you can de-puff those bags under your eyes, soothe sensitive skin around your jawline, decrease redness around your nose, and help to lift facial contours.
To use the ice roller, place it in the freezer and let it get icy cold. When you’re ready to start rolling, remove the silicone cap and apply it directly to your face. It stays cold for quite a while, so you can do multiple passes over your face and it will still be as cold as when you started.
When you’re done, just wipe off the stainless steel rollerball, put the cap back on, and put it back in the freezer so that it’s ready the next time you want to use it.
What Does the Ice Roller Feel Like?
The Cryo Ice Roller feels like a cold, metal egg rolling across your face. It feels nothing like putting an ice cube on your skin (that can actually burn you!). It’s completely cool and oh-so-refreshing, sort of like the feeling of an air conditioner blowing on your face on a sticky, hot day.
Our suggestion is to keep it in the freezer at all times. That way, it’s ready to go when you want to put it to use. Since we started using it a few weeks ago, we’ve found ourselves reaching for it at least two or three times per day!
The coldness of the rollerball might take some getting used to for some people. If you’re a fan of cryotherapy or enjoy a cold rinse at the end of a hot shower, you’ll love it.
Not sure what to get your mom for Mother’s Day? The Cryo Ice Roller makes the perfect gift for the mom who’s always looking for new tricks and new tools to add to her beauty arsenal.
What makes StackedSkincare so well rounded is that they don’t just make products to apply topically to the skin. They also have a line of tools that make it easier to getthose products into the skin, such as the Dermaplaning Tool.
Dermaplaning is an exfoliation method, a way of removing dead skin cells and hair from your face to make your skincare products absorb into the skin more effectively and produce better results. This dermaplaning tool has a softly slanted blade. When used in the right manner, it can remove all of that peach fuzz from your face and help to soften skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines plus dark spots.
The dermaplaning tool is safe for use on all skin types and should be used once per week at the most. It helps to make your complexion smoother, even out your skin tone and clear congested pores. That helps skincare products absorb more easily into the skin and sets the tone for super smooth makeup application.
Professional aestheticians use microneedling tools on their clients as a method of exfoliation and a way to make the skin look plumper and firmer. With the Microneedling Tool 2.0, you can skip the spa trip and get the exact same benefits from home.
This tool has a comfortable handle and a derma roller that you apply several times over the face in vertical, diagonal and horizontal sections. Don’t expect to see instant results — like all good skincare products and tools, you’ll need to use it daily over a period of several weeks to see real progress.
It doesn’t hurt to use, but you might feel a tingling sensation when you first start rolling it over the skin. It’s also common to see some redness immediately after application, so don’t use it right before you’re about to head out the door or jump on a Zoom call.
Hydration is key to having healthy, glowing skin. Whether you have dry, normal or problem skin, the Hydrating Body Serum helps to brighten dark spots, soften the texture of the skin and make your skin look firmer.
We love the way this hydrating serum feels and the way it dries on the skin. It goes on as a light mist, so unlike some skincare products for the body, it dries right away without leaving a tacky, sticky feeling as other moisturizers do. It’s loaded with all sorts of powerful ingredients, including peptides, antioxidants, lactic acid and squalene (which helps to prevent wrinkles).
Mist this onto your arms and legs a few times, and you’ll be hooked!
There’s no need to go to the spa for a face peel — you can do one right at home with the StackedSkincare TCA Multi-Acid Face Peel.
Featuring lactic and glycolic acid, this peel is perfect for brightening dark spots, treating breakouts and clearing out your pores to prevent further breakouts. It also helps to smooth rough and uneven textures on the face and soften unwanted fine lines.
This liquid face peel is super lightweight, easy to apply and you can use it all over your face and neck up to five times a week. It’s common to see some slight redness for about thirty minutes (but that’s to be expected with lactic acid).
We’re all on the search for the best anti-aging products, and the EGF Activating Serum is one of our new favorites!
The Epidermal Growth Factor Activating Serum helps to boost cell turnover, which means that it works from within to repair the surface of the skin. It helps to stimulate collagen production, which means that it has the ability to heal the skin from blemishes, sun damage and natural aging signs, such as dark spots.
Because it boosts collagen in your body, it also helps to plump up the skin, giving you that coveted radiant glow!
If you’re sick of looking at those crow’s feet in the corners of your eyes, check out the Firming Eye Complex. Packed with powerful peptides, this eye treatment helps to soften those annoying lines and minimize dark under-eye circles.
This serum works to tighten the skin, and it works fast — most people see a reduction in wrinkles in a matter of minutes!
