In all honesty, I think we all need to make more time for self care and self love in our lives. But at eight months pregnant, I need to remind myself of this on a daily basis.
In this day in age, it is so easy to get distracted and overwhelmed by other things that you forget to put yourself first. My friends and family have told me this only gets more difficult once you have kids. Your life quickly gets flipped, and your world now revolves around your little one.
So, needless to say, this subscription box full of goodies was the perfect box for a little extra pampering and self-love as I wrap up my pregnancy.
Advertised as the number one self care subscription box, I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of this month’s TheraBox.
What is TheraBox?
TheraBox is a monthly subscription box with a focus on self care. Each month’s box is handpicked by therapists curated to help you lower stress and heighten joy, focusing on self love.
Each TheraBox comes with one happiness boosting activity and 6 to 8 self care, wellness or mindfulness goodies to pamper yourself. Past boxes have ranged from skincare products, essential oils, face masks, lotions, aromatherapy items and other lifestyle goodies.
TheraBox plans start at $30.99 per month and include over $120 retail value in every box.
Unboxing and First Impressions
With this being my first TheraBox, I didn’t know what to expect in December’s “holiday” box. It was advertised as over $240 worth of self care products, which is definitely something I welcomed with open arms.
First off, you open the box and see “unbox happiness” right off the bat, and I loved that message. All of the goodies were organized and matched a purple-y theme. I am not sure if it is a seasonal aspect of the box, but it seemed like everything had a little extra sparkle too!

What is Included?
Now the moment you’ve all been waiting for is what is actually inside this month’s subscription box! These are not intended to be spoilers on the box, just an honest review of what to expect with this month’s subscription and what you can expect for future TheraBoxes.
Manifest Your Dreams Believe Journal
This little believe journal is filled with a manifestation guide, writing prompts and steps towards creating your intention. By writing for 5 minutes a day for 55 days, this guide will help you tune into your dreams and how to make them a reality. There is also a little section in the back for other notes and ideas for you to jot down.
Journals are always a great gift to give someone, and I like the idea of having writing prompts and other inspiring messages along the way to get your creative juices flowing.
I won’t go into too much detail about the journal because this is all about self-discovery.
Australian Sandalwood Natural Incense
Incense is definitely one of those things you either love or hate. In our household, we always have a full stack of fizzy pop incense, which reminds me of lemon-lime soda. If we aren’t burning a candle or incense, we are using our diffuser. Basically, my husband and I are both big scent people and want our house to smell good at all times.
I will say sandalwood is definitely an acquired smell.
I am not sure it is for everyone, but I think winter is the perfect time to try it out if it is a new scent. It is a woody scent and may remind you of a particular cologne or perfume.
It has calming effects and is a great evening wind down smell.

Minimo Flawless Charcoal Face Scrub
If you have never used a charcoal face scrub, you are missing out. My first thought unboxing this item was that I am going to have to hide it from my husband! We are both skincare junkies, and this charcoal scrub also comes with willow bark, ginger and bamboo carbon charcoal.
It is safe to use on sensitive skin, oily skin, congested pores and skin prone to breakouts, meaning pretty much anyone can use this exfoliating scrub. After using this particular charcoal scrub, my face felt squeaky clean. And a little goes a long way here, which is great because that means this little 5-ounce container should last awhile!
VQ Rose Gold Hydroglow Cream
A moisturizer, primer and illuminator all in one? Yes, please!
This hydroglow cream from South Korea will give you that sunkissed look and ward off redness. It is great for fine lines, wrinkles, dry skin and reduces pores while providing you with that dewy look. This might be my favorite thing in the box.
What more could you ask for in a skin product? I might be buying another one of these magical tubes once this one runs out!
Évolué Firming Toner
I feel like a lot of people skip toner in their skincare routine. I had never heard of Évolué before, and I was excited to give this bad boy a try. With working from home most days, I just wash my face and then use a toner in the mornings and call it a day.
This firming toner is like most toners and tightens, tones and refreshes your skin, leaving it feeling clean and plump. I think it even ways you up a bit because of the citrus and apple undertones.
If you currently don’t use a toner in your routine, you apply this after washing and before any serums. Bonus, this Évolué toner is great for all skin types and won’t dry you out.
Joss+Lyn Hologram Deep Cleansing Peel Off Mask
I have probably tried about 50 different masks over the years, but I have never tried a Joss+Lyn one. Masks have so many benefits and are meant to be done a few times a week, depending on the type of mask. They help remove dead skin, improve elasticity and minimize pores.
Well, this particular mask is simply beautiful; as you can imagine by the name, it has a hologram shine to it. It is a light iridescent purple and glows in the light. It kind of reminded me of some of the different masks I have tried in the past from Glamglow with glitter. The Korean Joss+Lyn mask is like a little shimmery fairytale for your face.
You can embrace your inner princess or unicorn once you put it on, and rumor has it, you are bound to have some pretty sweet dreams after you use it!
Chloe Emerald Rose Quartz Gua Sha
I have wanted a gua sha tool for years, but never could decide on what kind to buy, so this was the PERFECT surprise. If you aren’t familiar with this wellness item, it helps relieve tension, primarily around your face and neck. It helps relax your muscles and improve circulation as well. You may have had a massage therapist use this on you during an appointment and not even know it!
This magical little stone also helps with dark circles, wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness and overall skin strengthening. I could go on and on about how amazing this little tool is for you. It is super easy to use; just apply a little facial oil and massage away. I personally think it feels great around the jawline and neck area, but it really can be used pretty much anywhere.
You are guaranteed to feel relaxed after using this for just a few minutes a day.

AMNH SKIN CARE Stardust Skies Whipped Body Butter
Okay, winter is the perfect time for a good whipped body butter, and I personally got the most excited when I opened up this one from AMNH SKIN CARE. But, if you do not like glitter, this is not the body butter for you. It is scented with their moonchild fragrance, which I am not going to lie; it is not a super strong scent, despite what you might think from the name.
It has a floral fragrance with undertones of rose, white tea, nutmeg, honey and a few other scents. Made with shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, coco butter, vitamin E, mango butter and jasmine essential oil.
This shimmery body butter also gave me unicorn and magic vibes with its pale teal, purple and blue swirled coloring. It personally brightened my mood just by looking at it and was almost too pretty to dive into, but if you are not down with glitter, this is not the body butter for you!
At the end of the day, everyone deserves a little treatyoself package, and I can’t think of a better way to do that than with some self care wellness goodies. The TheraBox definitely did not disappoint.
If you are looking for a thoughtful gift for a friend, family member, coworker or other loved one, you really can’t go wrong with this subscription box from Cratejoy. And usually, there is a discount for your first box!
If you are looking for something a little bit more manly for someone in your life that loves self care, there are hundreds of options in their self-care subscription section.
No matter who you are, taking some time out of your hectic life for a little self love leads to happier lives. Even if that is just a nice long bath with some incense, bubbles and some soothing music, it doesn’t take much. And some wellness products can make it even better.
I am here to tell you my life got a whole lot better this week after trying out all of these self care products. It has been a rough year, and we all deserve a little extra TLC; never be afraid to pamper yourself every once in a while.
And once a month really doesn’t seem like too much if you ask me!
