Who Is All-Clad?
All-Clad has been in business since 1967. Based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, it's made in the USA and made with American steel.
All-Clad cookware isn't your everyday set of pots and pans. Unlike inexpensive imported sets, All-Clad crafts every item with durable layers of stainless steel and other high-quality metals, ensuring that every piece provides optimum function.
This cookware is built to last a lifetime!
What Products Does All-Clad Make?
All-Clad makes everything from stock pots and fry pans, to bakeware and cooking tools, to small electric appliances. But it's their stainless steel cookware collections that have made them a household name.
You can buy items individually or purchase multi-piece sets. These options make it perfect for any home cook or pro chef looking to completely outfit a kitchen with new cookware of all shapes and sizes. With so many options, it can be tricky to figure out which is the best one.
All-Clad cookware features a layered construction. Some products have three steel layers, while the more expensive products feature five layers of steel. This layered construction allows for the even cooking of food at the right temperature – a must-have requirement for any chef!
Stainless Steel Collections
All-Clad's stainless steel collections are among their most popular products. The three main collections are D3, D5 and Copper Core.
The All-Clad D3 Stainless Steel collection is crafted from 18/10 stainless steel. It features a triple-ply design with a steel interior, an aluminum core and an induction stainless steel exterior. These layers allow for usage on all sorts of cooktops, including induction burners and dishwasher safe.
The aluminum core and tri-ply construction heats evenly and quickly, making D3 an excellent option for any home cook.
The All-Clad D5 Stainless Steel collection is also made from stainless steel and aluminum. But, this collection has two additional layers for even greater and more even heating. It features a stainless steel core sandwiched between two layers of aluminum. The interior layer is 18/10 stainless, with an induction stainless steel exterior on the bottom.
The D5 collection is best-suited for intermediate cooks looking for a professional-level cookware set.
The All-Clad Copper Core collection is perfect for professional chefs and experienced cooks.
Like the D5 collection, Copper Core products feature five layers. The difference here is that the inner layer is copper surrounded by two layers of aluminum. The inner cooking surface is made from 18/10 stainless, while the exterior is crafted from magnetic stainless steel.
Copper Core is a superior option for the professional chef and is one of the quickest heating stainless steel sets you can buy and is oven and broiler safe.
The Master Chef collection comes as a set only, of which each piece features 2-layer bonding that provides even heat distribution. It's ideal for use when searing items, and it features an 18/10 stainless steel interior cooking surface with a brushed aluminum exterior.
The Master Chef collection was the first bonded cookware All-Clad ever sold, and it's been a favorite of chefs since the product first launched in 1971.
The TK collection was designed in collaboration with world-renowned chef Thomas Keller (of the famed French Laundry restaurant in Napa Valley). This collection includes a variety of tri-ply, five-ply and copper core pieces. The varied selection makes it a stand-out option for the chef who needs the perfect pan for every menu item.
Is All-Clad Cookware Non-Stick?
Stainless steel cookware is naturally non-stick, but if you're looking for pans with a non-stick coating, All-Clad offers that as well.
The All-Clad Essentials Non-Stick Collection collection features a recycled aluminum core with a hard-anodized aluminum exterior. The interior cooking surface is PFOA-free for food safety, plus it makes clean-up an absolute cinch.
A step up from the Essentials Non-Stick collection is All-Clad's Hard-Anodized collection. This collection features an aluminum core and a bonded stainless steel base that's safe for use in the oven and on an induction cooktop. Three layers of PFOA-free non-stick coating make it easy to clean and prevent scratches and damage from kitchen tools.
Is All-Clad Cookware Expensive?
Are you familiar with the saying, "you get what you pay for?" This is true with All-Clad cookware. It is one of the more expensive cookware brands available. But the quality, construction and superior function of each piece make it well worth the price.
Ready to splurge on some new All-Clad cookware? We recommend purchasing a set. A set always costs less than buying each individual piece on its own. You can also try Amazon or Macy's for sale pricing. Getting married? An All-Clad Cookware set makes a great addition to your wedding registry.
